Dean Rees Building Window Restoration

Dean Rees Building, Queen Mary University, Charterhouse Square, London, 2020.

Towards the end of 2020 we worked on the restoration of the metal casement windows in the Dean Rees Building of Queen Mary University.

The existing casement windows had previously been sealed shut or over painted, making opening very difficult. In order for people to feel safe coming back to work after the Covid-19 shut down, the university wanted to make sure there was adequate ventilation in the offices, which would require being able to open the windows.

We repaired, reinstated and restored the function to over 60 opening casement windows, using a MEWP to access high level windows externally.
