I wanted to remind people of the suffering that goes on in war, therefore I've included a crucifix as one of the greatest symbols of suffering with receding tombstones. Not all who go to war will come back alive, I have included portraits of soldiers who served in the regiment going towards the horizon they get smaller and become almost abstract. My narrative all happens in one large tombstone. The left side is about the human aspect and the right side is about angels taking soldiers upwards towards the Glory of God and on to Heaven.
Elizabeth Magil painted one of the angels and Christ. Christ was her third go at painting on glass and is one of the best Christ glass paintings I've ever seen.
