Private residence, London 2020
The second of two curved glass domes we produced for a private London residence.
This etched dome gives space for reflection, watching the clouds pass and change through the glass lines of the design.
We did everything in house; creating moulds to bend the glass to shape in the kiln; designing, cutting and applying the vinyl resists; sandblasting each segment.
The only element we didn't do ourselves was the hand-blown central jewel, which was done for us by a scientific glass blower.
We worked closely with Michaelis Boyd Associates to develop the concept and with Shepley Engineers to supply the brass framework.
