The Old Ilminsterians' Association

Old Boys Memorial Window

The Minster - The Blessed Virgin Mary,

Ilminster, Somerset, 2007

5m²

This was my first stained glass window in a Church.  It is a memorial window to Ilminster grammar school which went from 1549 - 1971 sponsored by the Old Ilminersterians.

The River Isle comes down in triangles either side of the window to represent the Holy Trinity and it nourishes the green shoots in the centre of the window which represent the community of the school and also the people of Ilminster. As we get to the top of the window there are golden shards which signify the glory of God and going towards Heaven.
